Differential Expression - Prokaryotic

Recent advances in high-throughput RNA sequencing have enabled tremendous growth in our understanding of bacterial transcriptomes. Differential gene expression provides the ability to respond to a constantly changing external environment in prokaryotes and understanding the effects of the bacterial gene expression can provide crucial information into cellular mechanisms including pathogenicity of the species and antibiotic resistance of the species. Whole Transcriptome Sequencing - Prokaryotic

Recent advances in next generation sequencing analysis of RNA sequencing data have enabled consistent development in our understanding of bacterial transcriptomes. However, analyzing bacterial transcriptomic data remains challenging due to complexity in bacterial transcriptomes, transcribed regions of genomes are much larger and complex than previously anticipated. Agiomix offers bioinformatics service new algorithms, specific to bacterial gene structures and transcriptomes, for analysis of RNA sequencing data, including aligning sequencing reads to a genome, constructing transcriptome maps, quantifying transcript abundance, testing for differential gene expression, determining operon structures and visualizing results.

A transcriptomics normally constitute the quantitative measurement of thousands of genes, a desirable feature for exploration of mechanisms.
